So, I need to hurry and write down our experience at the wish house before I forget about it.
The wish house here in Utah is one of a kind. It is completely paid for by donations and is really cool. We are the only chapter right now to have a wish house where families can go and kids can go and get together. When we got there our wish volunteers sat down with us to get some paperwork signed and to talk with Kayden and ask him questions. There were Reeses' Peanut Butter cups there which is Kayden's favorite and so he was talking to them with a mouth full of candy but if he will eat it and put it in his mouth I will let him have it.
As they were talking to him he was saying some of the most random things and didn't really pay much attention to answering them with the right answers. After our little random interview they took us up to the kids room where they played a game and talked about all the fun things that people can wish for. Kayden already knew that he wanted to go to Disney World. He wants to go and meet Buzz Lightyear and Mickey Mouse and do all that fun stuff there.
They then took Kayden over to the room where he could put his key into the door and open the wish room. The room was make of glass and had different color lights glowing. It was really cool. They then showed him the place where he can put his wish and send it to the wish wizard to get it granted.
They then took us out to the room where you can see all these stars hanging from the ceiling. These stars each represent a child that had their wish granted from Utah. There were a lot of them. It is really humbling to see so many kids that have major medical needs and to know that Make A Wish made them happy and excited just like us. Kayden's star will soon join in the others at the end of his wish. We will have a big party at the wish house with friends and family where they will be able to watch him raise his star to the ceiling to join the others.
We will be going to Walt Disney World around the end of April. We are so excited and looking forward to this much needed vacation and time away. I don't think that we have ever really gone on a vacation with all 5 of us. It was really hard when Kayden was smaller but now that he doesn't have too much medical stuff to haul around with him it makes things much easier.
I also started school this week and am really excited to begin this new adventure for our family. I am taking a fitness class on Monday and Wednesday's at the schools awesome fitness center. I basically have a personal trainer for the next 4 months to help me accomplish some of my fitness goals. I am really excited and can't wait to continue on with this program.
I am taking an English class online so that will be interesting. We will see if the boys will be quiet long enough for me to attend class. I am thinking we may need to implement quiet hour where they are not allowed to do anything noisy for the time that I am in my class.
I have Medical Terminology which is fun so far. They have a stupid way of teaching the terminology, but I will suffer through it to get the class done. I think they are teaching it a dumb way and don't understand why they don't just teach the words and what they mean instead of trying to teach you a bunch of other stuff in the meantime.
Pre-Algebra is the math class that I am taking since I am kind of out of practice with it. I just finished 3 assignments and have 3 more to go. I hope that I will be able to retain what I have learned and am actually glad that I am starting in the beginning so that I am not lost later on.
So that is a little summary of what is going on and hopefully we will keep on top of things!
