I am such an IDIOT!

As most of you know I went to Women's Conference and loved it. But one of the highlights was that I got to spend an hour looking around in the bookstore, CHILDLESS. I thought that I was in heaven. While I was there they were having authors there to sign their books. I didn't think anything of it since most of the books I wasn't interested in because I had other things I was looking at. One of the books that was there was this book:

Even though it looks cute I know that Josh would have killed me if I bought yet another book for the kids. So I passed it up. I gathered up all the stuff that I needed to get for birthday presents and mother's day gifts and went to the check out. I passed by the table that had the author of this book. I saw the author sitting there signing books and talking to people and I over heard him saying that this book really started out as a story he made up for his 2 kids. I thought that was cool but didn't sit and really look at the book. This is where I feel like the biggest idiot! I should have looked at the book to find out who this person was sitting there and to find out who the author was.

Fast forward to yesterday at work and I find a picture on our computer about a local author. His name is Bevan Olsen. I opened up this picture to find out that this author, Bevan Olsen, is a former resident of Emery County, former resident of Orangeville, the author of the book "The Littlest Nephite" who was the person that was sitting there at the bookstore signing books, and MY COUSIN!!!!!

I didn't even recognize him! He grew up in the same town as me, we attended family reunions together, went camping together, I saw his mother in the grocery store lastnight. In my defense, this is NOT the Bevan Olsen that I grew up with. I remember him as the little elementary kid with glasses and kind of chunky! The Bevan Olsen that I remember hadn't graduated from Jr. High yet let alone have TWO kids! So, I am going to go and get this book and I will track him down and have him sign it since I missed a wonderful opportunity at Women's Conference. His mom says that he has about three more books waiting to come out and one of them is a Christmas story that will be out this Christmas. Congratulations Bevan! I feel like such an IDIOT because I didn't stop and see you and say HI!

Wow, a published author! What a great accomplishment! Chalk up another one for little OVille. Great things come from little towns.
