Hope

I cannot wait until the talks from conference come out on Thursday online. I want to read them so badly since I didn't get to watch them like I wanted to. I did hear President Monson's talk Sunday morning (I think) where he spoke about change and how we need to enjoy the journey now. I think we have led such busy lives the past few years that we have forgotten what is important and that is our families. We want our kids to be involved in everything but we don't realize that they don't need to be involved in everything and that puts a lot of strain on us as parents to have to make sure that we can get them there and financially be able to pay for it. I heard some of the talks and I heard a lot of the brethern reitterate that we are living in hard times and that we need to live within our means, have the house that we can afford not the house the neighbors have across the street.

I think one of my favorite parts about President Monson's talk is how he said that those of us with kids need to sit back and basically relax. So the house isn't spotless it is o.k. to have the toys out, (within reason, we don't want to live in pig stys) but he is telling us to enjoy our kids now because soon enough they will be gone and we will miss it. I keep thinking about the Trace Adkins song called "Your Gonna Miss This" and how no matter how crazy the day is, no matter how many times Koy gets eggs out of the fridge and drops them on the ground, no matter how many times he pulls the stuffing out of the couch arm, I need to enjoy his little personality and his little mischief and Lexi and Kayden playing around with each other.

I really want to read what they had to say about Hope. I know that it was talked about a lot but I didn't get all the information that I wanted.

So here is the new question: When did your child learn to ride a bike?

This one is easy. Lexi learned when she was 4 to ride a bike without training wheels. She thought it was the greatest thing in the world. Kayden still can't ride a bike. I think it is the coordination thing that he has a hard time with and his little legs are not strong enough to pedal a bike and Koy can't ride a bike yet either. I hope that next spring time we will be able to have some way for them to ride their bikes around here.

If there is one lesson I need to learn, this is it. I get so anxious over the messes and spending each day trying to keep it cleaner than the last. I know I am missing out on more important things.
