Busy, Busy, Busy

This past week has been busy and I have barely had time to get anything done let alone blog anything.

I will start with my frustration on not losing any weight. I will be honest and say it has been hard. I go to the gym every day and then I don't see any progress at all. Sometimes I think my scale might be broken because it never moves down and only moves up. However, overall it has been going down just really slow. I took my mom's advice and started keeping track of my calories at the website that she recommended and it has been really good. I wanted to know how many calories I needed to eat to try to lose 30 pounds by the time we go to Disney World and the site basically told me that it was unrealistic and that it is recommended for my current weight and height and activity level to lose about .5 to 1 lb per week. That is for a healthy weight lose. Of course I could lose more than that, but too much would be bad. So I will push on and just continue working out and looking forward to my goal of running in the 5K at the Salt Lake Marathon and doing my best in that. Then reward myself by going to Disney World about a week and a half after that. It also didn't help that I was bloated and retaining water really bad this last week. Now that my monthly visitor has made her appearance I am feeling relieved and a little lighter. I do need to drink more water during the day though.

This Sunday is my turn to do sharing time and it will be my first time. I think I am pretty prepared. I have tried to get it done early so I am not waiting until the last minute on Saturday night when I have no time.

Yesterday we had Kayden's monthly blood draw. The girl that drew his blood was new and she poked him in a different spot than they normally poke him. I could tell that she was in there pretty far and Kayden said ouch and then his arms started shaking so I knew that he was really hurting. He watched her the whole time as she struggled to pull up the blood and he kept saying ouch and shaking. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it really hard because he was hurting. The girl didn't get a ton of blood, only 3 cc's, and the good people get about 5 cc's and Kayden usually doesn't complain at all. Next time if it is this girl I am going to request a different one. I know that they need the practice, but for some reason I didn't get a good vibe from her. She just didn't get it.

I got a bill the other day for Kayden's blood draws that he has to have every month and they run about $2000 a month just for his monthly visit that we have to have. There is no way that he can get out of these visits right now. He is tested for EBV every month and that test runs $500 alone. When he has to be tested for the BK virus in the blood that test is $800 every time. Usually they will only do that test if he get three negatives in a row but as soon as the virus shows up at high levels in his urine then they start those tests again. We haven't had to go more than three months because this virus has never shown up in his blood at all but it has shown up in high levels in his urine at times.

About a week ago Lexi's bike and my bike was stolen from outside our apartment. She was upset and wanted us to go and buy her a new bike right then. We got her calmed down and reminded her that her birthday is coming up and she could also save up her money for one too.

Koy and Lexi have been coughing really bad. Kayden is surprisingly my healthy one right now. Josh has been coughing also.

My anniversary is coming up on Saturday. It will be 11 years. WOW. We have definitely had our ups and downs but we have had a good past few months so we will be celebrating the good times for sure.

I had to have another root canal done today on the tooth that I broke a little over a month ago. I have been a little sore tonight and can tell that I am in need of another pill soon for bed.

I have truly seen blessings that we have been blessed with over the past few weeks and I am so grateful for all that we have been blessed with and for the Lord watching over us and making sure that we are taken care of.

My students have been coughing a lot in class, too. Must be something going around. Sounds like your life is really busy. Sorry that Kayden had a bad day at the doctors. He is such a strong boy and to see him shake in pain is really hard. Don't we wish we could take all their pains away. The calorie counting website is really good, isn't it? It gives you so much information and is very easy. Being realistic is really better, but with all your extra exercise I'm surprised you haven't lost a little bit more. But the bloating thing is a real problem. I bet you see a big jump in a few weeks. Keep it up! Love those kids!
