Be prepared this is going to have too much information that you may not want to hear about, but since my blog is private and only a few of you are special enough to read it then you get to deal with information about my sickness.
Last Wednesday I started have some pain in my side and then I started having diarrhea. As the days went on it just kept getting worse and worse. Sunday after church I came home to get ready for work and the pain and cramping was pretty intense when I went to the bathroom. By this time I had had diarrhea for 5 days and things just kept getting worse. As the day went on I got really cold and going to the bathroom was very painful. During the middle of the night I started running a fever. I went to the bathroom and got back in bed and just shook from being so cold and in so much pain.
Monday morning I got up and went to my jogging class and was feeling weak but I went and worked out for about 25 minutes. Then as the day went on things just kept getting worse. I kind of knew that I needed to drink more water, but I just couldn't do it. I made an appointment with a doctor and he wanted me to give some stool samples but gave me nothing for the pain. I had medical terminology mid term test that I had to go to that night so I wasn't able to go and get the stuff to do the samples and tests until Tuesday morning.
As the afternoon went on the pain was horrible. I couldn't go to the bathroom at all without pain in my lower abdomen. The best way to describe them is really bad gas pains that accompany diarrhea but I was no longer able to get anything out. I was passing a lot of mucous (see TMI I know) but that was about it and the pain that accompanied was really intense. I cried many times yesterday from being in so much pain.
I decided to go to the ER since I was not feeling well at all. I was afraid that I had gallbladder problems or even an appendicitis. They gave me morphine for pain and rehydrated me and after 3 liters of water I finally had to go to the bathroom. It was so nice to be able to go to the bathroom and be pain free. Because I was going on day 6 with diarrhea and pain they decided to be aggressive in trying to find out what was going on. The ultrasound came back as normal and most of the blood work came back as normal but it is with the CT scan that they found that my colon was inflammed. I was able to give a stool sample so they could run tests that way too. I have to say here that the contrast drink that you have to drink for the CT scan was really, really gross. I will never look at Crystal Light Lemonade the same again. I got the result back from one of the stool tests today and it came back positive for C-diff. So I have a diagnosis right now of Colitis and C-diff. I meet with the Gastroenterologist on Thursday to find out any more info. I am taking two antibiotics that have definitely started to make some difference and they have also given me pain pills and phenegran.
This morning was really bad as far as nausea and a really bad headache but tonight has been pretty good. Do you know how wonderful it is to be able to go to the bathroom and not be in pain. I so would not recommend this to anybody it has been horrible.

I am glad you are feeling somewhat better. I will be honest with you, when I walked into your house yesterday, you looked awful. When you called me crying because you were hurting, I had no problem saying GO TO THE DR. Didn't know that Dr Rasmussen was going to be gone and Dr Young was going to be so stupid. But I'm glad they got you rehydrated. I had to make sure Kayden knew that you weren't going to stay at the hospital forever, he was really concerned about that. He stayed up pretty late wanting to make sure that everything was ok. He would yell to me "Nicky, I love you" I was surpised Koy fell right to sleep.
If you need anything, call me. You know my cell number. if I don't pick up, call my work 81-584-3725, that goes directly to my desk. I see you have 3 days off, so let me know if I need to do anything with the boys tomorrow
Wow Tammy, I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how miserable you must be. Hopefully the meds. will get you back on your feet soon. Unfortunately, moms can never just sit back and be sick! Hopefully you can get some rest too. Hang in there!
