First Day of School

I am finally getting around to writing about the first day of school for Lexi and Kayden. This is Lexi's 3rd year at her elementary school. She is very smart and is one of the highest in her class. This year she is in a split 5th/6th grade. She was really nervous at first but after we explained to her why she is in that class and that she will get to do things that others in a regular 5th grade won't be able to do she was o.k. She is growing up so fast and is definitely hitting the tween stage since her attitude seems to be bigger than her right now. If anyone ever thinks that their child will not do that.....think again because I can guarantee that they will.

Here is Lexi on the first day of school

Kayden's first day of school was a week after Lexi's. It was raining really bad that day so I took a picture outside the school while it was raining and the took another picture after school. Kayden is in all day kindergarten at his school and I was really excited for him. I wanted him to be able to eat lunch with other kids in hopes that he will start eating more things and different things. I also know that he needs help with his fine motor skills still.

I had such mixed emotions with him going to school. I have been his life line for so long and he is growing up and not needing me as much as he did and that is hard. He takes his own medications (by mouth) and he is responsible for eating when he is hungry. Just a lot of transitioning from me being so hands on to not being as hands on. He is getting so big and so grown up. I did really good at not crying until he sat down and I was done taking his pictures. I had to hurry and leave so that I didn't cry really hard. So yes a few tears were shed but he was so happy.

Here are pictures from Kayden's first day of school.

Our rainy morning going to school.
His picture after school was much better.

Koy missed Kayden all day and they were so excited to see each other.

OH, here it is. For some reason this popped up behind everything! Love the comment about you being Kayden's life-line. That is so true. I know it is difficult to think that he is becoming "un-attached" a bit. But he will always have a special bond with you because of what you have done for him.
