Kayden was admitted to the hospital yesterday with only a diagnosis of Sepsis because they didn't know what was going on. They gave him an I.V antibiotic called Rocephin and then drew labs this morning. Because of the labs they ordered some x-rays and we now have a diagnosis and a plan.
Bi-lateral Bacteria Pneumonia and Sinusitis. Everybody is shocked because they could no hear anything at all when they listened to him breathe. He wasn't coughing and was playing and having fun. He looked like he shouldn't have been there at all because he was acting so good. Dr. Madsen (his pediatrician) treats this with 10 days of I.V antibiotic. So the plan is to stay at the hospital for his antibiotics and breathing treatments through early Monday morning. We will leave early Monday morning to go to our appointment with the Nephrologist for transplant clinic and Dr. Madsen will also have arranged for us to have a PIC line put in at the Rapid Treatment Unit at PCMC so that we can do the I.V. antibiotics. Sounds like a lot of fun doesn't it? We still have some labs that we haven't got the results for like rotovirus, cryptosporidium, and blood in the stool. But at least we have the beginning of a plan.

Yikes! How scary.
Hope he is on the mend soon.
BLAH I hate hospitals too :(
Prayers for Kayden! Pneumonia can be so tricky. But a plan and a diagnosis is good.
I am so sorry to hear this! Poor guy. This is so scary for you I'm sure. Prayers for his healing.
