My Anniversary Eve

Tonight is my anniversary eve and I thought that I would indulge in writing a little bit about how I met my husband and then post pictures of our wedding tomorrow after I get them scanned into the computer.

I met Josh at the Salt Lake City School District where we were both employed. He worked in the Tech department as a delivery driver and I worked in the Building and Grounds department as a secretary at the shop. I was 20 years old and there were only 3 other ladies that worked there: one was the grounds supervisor and she was married, the other 2 were secretaries and they were both mean and one was over the age of 50. The other 60 people were male and most of them were not very good looking.

The building that Josh was based out of, there bathroom was getting fixed so the guys from that office had to come and use our bathroom and they had to pass right by my desk. This is where I first met Josh. At work during one of his bathroom trips! Anyways, we met and he asked me out on a date and I agreed.

I was living in the Brigham Apartments in downtown Salt Lake, I had just graduated from LDS Business College, and he came and picked me up for our date. We were going to go to a dance at Saltair that night. When he came to pick me up, I introduced him to my roommate who was VERY ANNOYING and I could not stand her! Josh asked her what she was doing that night and she said she wasn't doing anything and being the nice person that he is invited HER to come along with us. I was so mad! I did not want to go on this date with my annoying roommate whatsoever but I held my tongue and pretended that it was o.k.

We went to the dance and I met his friends there and had a great time. Neither one of us really liked dances but we went and had a good time. I remember the first dance we danced to was by Allison Krauss called "When you say nothing at all." I loved that song even before I danced with him, but now it holds a wonderful memory for me.

After the dance he took me and my roommate home and my roommate hurried and pulled me out of the car so that I could not stay there and talk with him. He later told me that he really did not appreciate her doing that and wished that he had not invited her along for that reason.

Josh had just returned home from an LDS Mission in Milan Italy and when he got home he didn't have a car. He was sharing a car with his brother. It was a really cool Ford Mustang but the funny thing about the car is that it had no reverse in the thing. Every place we parked we had to make sure that he could just pull on through because he could not back up to get out. So when he dropped me off that night he could not find a place to park that he could get out of without using reverse so my roommate suggested that he just stop in the middle of the road and we would get out and then he didn't need to worry about parking. She was a piece of work!

This first date was in June and we were married 8 months later. Just your typical LDS courtship wouldn't you say!

I know how you feel. Our liver nurse left two years ago and I miss him dearly. So did one of our doctors who had the best bedside manner ever! Not that we don't have good doctors or nurses left, it's just sad!

I would take Kayden in. He probably has a ruptured ear drum, which sounds worse than it really is. Anna has had to get a couple sets of ear tubes, it's not so bad, although it might still drain when/if they get infected, but then the buildup won't hurt him. Anna had ear infection after ear infection, and with tubes she had only a couple off scattered infections in a couple of years.
