This past Sunday was the first sunday in a long time that I actually did not have to work. (Although the next two Sundays I have to be to work at 7 A.M!!!!). Josh wanted to take me and the kids out on the town. So we loaded everyone up and went down to look at the lights on Temple Square. We got there early so that we could miss the crowd of people coming downtown for the First Presidency Christmas Devotional.
I think that Kayden and Koy's favorite part of the whole thing was seeing the horses! Gotta love the Clydesdales (right Grandpa!). As we were driving around Koy saw all the lights and he sat there saying "Oooohhhh, trees I like them." It was so funny. Kayden loved seeing the lights and Lexi enjoyed them also. I did get some pictures but not as many as I would have like because my camera battery died. As soon as my battery is charged I will be loading the pictures on here. It was so nice to be able to spend time as a family.
After we saw the lights at temple square we went to the Gateway. Our intentions were to get Hot Chocolate, but Barnes and Nobles was closed so we decided to get us some food. We decided on eating at The Happy Sumo. This place has really good chinese food. Josh decided to try sushi and I went the no fail Sweet and Sour Chicken. We also ordered calamari and veggies. We ate with chopsticks and Kayden thought that was pretty great. He used them more as drumsticks than actually using them to eat. Kayden did eat some of the veggies and Lexi loved the veggies and the calamari and Koy ate everything, including the sushi! That kid will eat anything you put in front of him. Overall we had a great time and it was so nice to be able to spend time togather. I think that we need to do it more often. Josh made the comment that we had kind of splurged a little and that there are just some times when you "can't afford not to." I truly feel that we need to splurge a little more often so that we can spend some time together and make memories.

Isn't it nice to just enjoy each others company. Family really is the greatest joy on earth. Plus, Happy Sumo is DELICIOUS. You made me home sick for the place ha ha.
Making memories is wonderful, and you can do it without spending much money. Just being together and sightseeing works. That is one reason you don't spend money on the little junky things at the grocery store, etc. Save by resisting that video, game, book, magazine, toy, and you have more to spend for more imporant things like memories.
I am glad you had time to spend together. After a long stretch of working and daily life, forgetting it all for one evening and just spending time together helps you remember just what is really important. Glad you were able to do it.
