Appointments and more...

Today was a busy day for us. I have been making appointments galore for the kids and especially since Kayden's Medicare will be running out in a month I needed to make sure that he was caught up on everything he needs before hand. I have to get as much out of the government as possible. So today was the last day of all the appointments and they included the dentist for all three kids and myself and the ENT for Lexi for her tonsils since our benefits renew the first of January.

The boys started the day off at the dentist and they did really good. They have great teeth and no cavities.

Next we took Lexi to see the ENT for her tonsils and her history of strep throat this past summer made us want to get her tonsils out. The doc said that she is just short of the criteria which is 7 cases of strep throat. She had 6 cases of it and since her last treatment she has not had any problems. He did say that they are large but not swollen right now. So we have decided to take them out now rather than wait. I don't want her to get too old and them be miserable when we take them out. We also have met our out of pocket max this year so everything should be covered. She is scheduled to have them removed on November 5. I figured I would let her go through Halloween and not be miserable.

Finally we took Lexi and me to the dentist. This is where things changed. Lexi had no cavities and the doc said that braces should wait. Right now her 6 year molars are perfectly lined up so we need to see what happens as she loses her molars and gets her permanent molars in. Guess who is the one that has the most problem....ME!!! As I walked in I was asked it I have a tooth that hurts on the left side. I responded as no and they were very surprised. Apparently I have a really bad cavity in a tooth. So bad that I need a root canal on it. I have a total of 5 teeth that are so bad that they can fill them temporarily but the integrity of the tooth will be compromised so they need to have crowns put on all 5 of the teeth. That dang Cornish water still affects me 30 years later. Now I have to save my pennies so that I can pay my dental bill before I can have any of the work done. The doc did say that the root canal needs to be done ASAP so that they can catch it before it gets really bad and I need to have an emergency root canal done.

Tomorrow I am making my way to SLCC to find out about nursing school. Wish me luck!
