When Kayden was admitted to the hospital in August with his ear problem they were asking me questions that I had a hard time answering (amazingly). Lately I have been getting times mixed up as to when something happened and what year it happened and so on. I remember that the last time Kayden was in the hospital I blogged about it and had some pictures so I referred to that blog post often since it had a lot of the little details that I seemed to have forgotten like which ear it was in. I realized then that I was slacking and I needed to start writing things down and be better about than I had been. I need to write the good the bad the ugly the fun and the pretty.
So to go along with the ugly.... Kayden has been coughing the past few days and at night he has been barking like a seal. Monday night was probably the worst for him. The doc said that he has a classic case of croup. I couldn't remember if he had it as a baby, but with his immune system so crappy it was vert possible. So he has now had croup and after three days he is pretty much better. He never ran a fever and just has a stupid cough. But according to the information there is nothing that can be done for croup you just have to suffer through it.
Now Koy has it. He was up most of the night last night coughing. He was coughing to the point of vomiting. Luckily we made it to the bathroom for him to throw up in the toilet. Koy is running a slight fever and of course night times are the worst. So I decided to stay home with both boys so that we don't pass it on at the babysitters but we should be doing much better by tomorrow. (At least I hope so) The goal today is to just lay around the house and TRY to keep the boys calm so that they don't get too worked up. I plan on cleaning things so that we can not keep passing the virus around. Unfortunately I don't have any clorox but I do have Pine Sol.
Wish us luck.

Pine Sol is great! One thing youc an do for croup is steam. Run the shower hot and steam up the bathroom. Or use a bowl of hot water and put your face over it with a clothe over your head to keep the steam in. Of course, you as can Dr. Labrum for advice. I happen to know he is pretty good. Gets it from his mother.
Who says mothers know best.. I told you yesterday Koy just isn't acting right... When I was sitting on the couch and he came and sat by me and laid his head on my arm, I knew something was wrong. When I told you to watch him, you said "oh he just has a cough, he doesn't have a fever!" blah blah blah blah blah.... Well, it looks like Aunt Nicky knows best!!
