Oh the madness!

Nights with the kids is madness. It was easy with one, a little harder with two but not to much harder but three, oh my! Here is our typical night routine. Kaydens medications at 8 p.m. start it out. Once medications are administered then there is bath time. If I bathe the two boys togather then I for sure will come out drenched but it gets done much faster. So depending on how much time I want to dedicate along with how wet I want to get is what determines if I bathe both boys together. They both love the water and love to splash. So Koy is always the first one out of the tub no matter what.

Getting Koy dressed is a feat in itself. He HATES and I am not even joking when I say this, he HATES to get his diaper changed and clothes on. I have to put one foot on each arm and hold his arms down so that he won't twist his body in order for me to put on his diaper. I still have to contend with his feet, but if I am able to hold his upper body down it helps a lot. After 5 minutes of fighting with him to get him dressed then I get a breather with Kayden. He is much easier to get dressed and it doesn't even take me 1 minute. Then after getting the boys dressed we get Lexi in the shower, or bath depending on what she wants.

By the time we get everyone in their jammies and settled down it is 8:40. Then we get Koy his bottle and medicine if he needs it and then put him to bed. With Koy, he loves to be held, but he only lets you hold him for 10 seconds and then he wants you to put him down so he can play and then come back so you can hold him. He will not sit still for 5 minutes. So I just put him to bed so that he can fall asleep on his own. This takes about 10 minutes.

Next, we get Kayden's food and water bags filled but this is not the end once we get to his bed then we have to hook everything up to his pump. Then with the remaining time we say prayers and get everyone else in bed. I am wanting to try and read them a story from either the Friend or hold up a scripture picture and read the story to them I just need something that will hold their attention instead of just reading the scriptures. I try to get all of this taken care of before 9 p.m. and on a good day it gets done. We make sure that we say night time prayers before bed. Even Kayden joins us in prayers. I usually will also have Lexi turn off the t.v. and read a book for a little while. I got her a High School Musical Book and she is reading that and I am so proud of her doing that. She is such a good little reader and by reading every night she only gets better.

Why do I write about this you ask because I can and to let you know that taking care of 3 little kids is difficult and the madness that goes on every night before bed. It may seem like out of control madness, but it is actually kind of controlled madness.

Now, I have to go to bed, just writing this makes me tired.
