Look who is 1 Year Old...Not Josh but KOY!!!!!

Today is my baby Koy's birthday. I cannot believe that it has been one year since he was born. Boy have we had a lot go on during that time. This is the picture taken at the hospital.

I remember that day so well. I was so miserable and I had gone to the hospital the night before because of contractions and I was so mad when they sent me home because I knew that the next day I was going to be there anyways having my baby. The doctor had told me that if I was dilated to a 5 he would admit me to have this baby. When I left, I made sure that the nurse checked me first to see how far I was dilated and she said that I was for sure a 5. I had a doctor appointment with my doctor and I knew he was going to keep me there because he said he would. While at my appointment he was kind of unsure about keeping me. When he checked me he said I was barely a 5, but I was able to convince him that I needed to stay. I didn't want to be at home 45 minutes away and have my water break since I was dilated to a 5 and 95% thin. That baby was almost falling out as it was. I told him that if he would break my water then I for sure would have that baby before 10 p.m. So he agreed and sent me to the hospital to get hooked up.
The nurse hooked me up to the I.V. at 3:15 p.m. and got the pitocin going. The doc came in around 4 p.m. and broke my water and then the labor pains came and they came hard! My nurse got the anesthesiologist there and got me my epidural. He got things set up and was going to give me a button to be able to administer more if I needed it but I was so close to delivering that he just gave me another bolus of the medication and that was it. The nurse called in the doc and by 5:30 Koy was born. The nurse looked at the chart and from the time she put my I.V in until my baby was born was 2 hours and 15 minutes. She said that was probably the fastest that she had ever seen. My doctor was quite surprised also and I think he was glad that he had me stay. I know that I was because I knew that once my water broke I wouldn't have time to get to the hospital.

Koy Nichols Gale entered the world at 7 pounds and 19 inches long. He was my shortest baby. He was even 3 weeks early so I am glad that he came when he did. His little face was black and blue because he came so fast. Lexi was scared when she saw him and didn't want to hold him at first and Kayden started crying because he was so scary looking.

Now he is a big 1 year old. He is walking around and can wave bye bye and in his own little language say bye bye. He eats everything!!!! He is close to 25 pounds and he is a chunk but we love him a lot. He loves to dance with Lexi and he is just too cute and as Kayden would say "Too funny mama".

I am having a little bit of a hard time because Josh isn't here today, but he called and talked to Koy for a minute since all he does is look at the phone. He wishes he was here so badly but when he gets home we will have another party that we can celebrate both boys birthdays again.
Happy Birthday Koy, we love you and are so happy to have you in our family. You are so cute and both your big brother and your big sister adore you. Have fun eating your cake and daddy will watch you do it again in a month when he gets home!
