Christmas Info....

I saw this on my SIL 's blog I don't want to be a scrooge :) I love everything about Christmas, so I thought I would join in!

Welcome to the 'Christmas Edition' of getting to know your friends. Try not to be a SCROOGE!!!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper at Christmas time. They have such cool looking paper these days who can resist using it!

2. Tree--Real or Artificial? Artificial and pre lit! I hate putting lights on the tree because it takes so much time. I like a lot of lights on trees so it is easy for me to use5 strands of lights on a tree and if it comes pre-lit then the stuff is already there the way I like it! I also have to buy the Evergreen Candle from Salt City Candles for the smell. I lit the one we have and Kayden walks down the hall to me and says "Mom, (as he inhales) I smell Christmas." Made me feel like I was doing a good job of making Christmas a time to remember.

3. When do you put Christmas tree up?The Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually New Year's Day.

5. Like eggnog? DISGUSTING!!!! It is of the Devil!

6. Do you have a nativity scene? No, I haven't found one that I like or that I can afford right now. My parents gave us their old one but there is no place to put it this year that Koy will not make a huge mess of.

7. Favorite gift received as a child? I remember the year we received our Cabbage Patch Dolls. My brother woke up in the middle of the night and peeked into the front room to see what the presents were that Santa had left and he came in the middle of the night to my bedroom and woke me up to tell me what I got from Santa. After that year Santa never left the presents unwrapped so we couldn't peek at the gifts during the night.

8. Hardest person to buy for? My parents.

9. Easiest person to buy for? My kids

10. Worst Christmas gift? I got a stupid little spelling game from my Uncle one year. It wouldn't have been so bad if the game wasn't for a 4 year old and I was in Junior High. It really sucked.

11. Mail or email Christmas Card? Mail.

12. Favorite Christmas movie? The Night They Saved Christmas with Jaclyn Smith.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I would love to have everything done by Thanksgiving but that is usually when I start.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No

15. Favorite food to eat on Christmas? Homemade Oreo Cookies. We also have turkey and I love my mom's cheese ball.

16. Clear or colored tree lights? I really don't have a preference. I use to only like the clear and now I have changed my mind now that I have kids and want to make things fun for them.

17. Favorite Christmas Song? I LOVE THEM ALL!!

18. Travel during Christmas or Stay home? Stay home. I want my kids to have memories of waking up on Christmas in their own bed and being at home on Christmas. I want them to remember being with their family and having fun with their family. That is what I remember about Christmas growing up. Being at home with my sisters and brother and having fun at home and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I love my extended family, but it is my immediate family that I wanted to be with and that is what I want for my kids and myself at Christmas and that is to enjoy being with our little family.

19. Can you name Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph.

20. Star or Angel on Tree top? Either one. Right now we don't have anything.

21. Open presents on Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning and Grandma and Grandpa's gift on Christmas Eve because it is always pajamas and I am o.k. with opening up mom and dad's gift on Christmas Eve.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? I don't have anything that really annoys me at Christmas time. I don't like the traffic around the malls though so I guess that would be something annoying to me.

23. Do you attend Christmas Eve services? Our religion does not have Christmas Eve services but we do have a Christmas program the Sunday before Christmas. I don't know what will happen this year since our ward does not have a choir so I don't know what it will be like this year. We also have a ward Christmas party.

24. Do you have any family traditions observed during Christmas? We always get pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa on Christmas Eve. I loved that when I was growing up and now we do it with my kids. Josh always had Candy Canes on his tree growing up and so I have put Candy Canes on our trees because that is something he likes. Although this year most of the Candy Canes have disappeared because Koy has taken all of them off. I haven't really found out anything that works for our little family yet. Maybe by the time my kids are older we will have some things that we do every year.

25. Who do you wish you could see on Christmas? We are hoping that Josh will be able to be home for Christmas. That would be the best and most important thing for me.

If you would like to join in and let us know how you feel about Christmas feel free to copy the questions to your own blog.
