In my last post I posted about Koy being sick and that I was for sure that Kayden would be getting it. Well so far Kayden is doing o.k. minus a 101.4 fever that seems to be under control with Tylenol (because remember the kid can't have motrin with his kidney issue!). It is now day 4 for Koy and he is possibly starting to feel a little better and Lexi is now SICK, SICK!
Lexi started getting sick on Friday morning when she started throwing up. She hasn't thrown up since Friday, but her cough and congestion has gotten worse. Yesterday she went to Spencer's Wishes and was able to spend time with the Jazz Bear and go shopping and got some pretty cool things. She is such a sweet girl she got a few CD's for Kayden and Koy and a game that they could play with her and she got me a necklace and my mom a necklace. She is always thinking of others even when it is her turn to be able to get what she wants. She came home after the party and just laid around and started getting a fever. Her fever got around 102 yesterday and so I gave her motrin and some cough medicine, put her in the tub and then tried to make her comfortable. She started really complaining of her ear hurting lastnight and this morning and Koy seemed to be really uncomfortable so I decided to take them to the ER since that is all we have around here on weekends and holidays.
We walk into the ER and there is not one seat in the whole place to sit down. The wait was around 5 hours and it was so full of sick kiddos. If it wasn't for the fact that I knew Lexi really needed to get on some antibiotics I would have left, but she was in a lot of pain. I was glad that I didn't take Kayden over there to sit in a sick germ infested room so that he could catch every single thing that was in there. The ER doctor even told me that if Kayden did need to see him to call beforehand and he would have him come in through the back door so that he wouldn't get sick from everyone else. So the verdict on Koy is that he is on the down side of his cold and with some Dimetapp he should start to do better. With Lexi, he said that she had a really bad ear infection and that it was as infected as it can get without bursting the ear drum. He said that she would probably be better off if it does burst because it is so horrible and she has pneumonia in her left lower lung. He said that he could hear the fluid and to bring her in tomorrow if she doesn't start feeling better and she definately needs to be followed up on around Wed. or Thursday. She is so miserable but hopefully she will start to feel better by tonight and even better by tomorrow.
Kayden wanted nothing to do with going to the doctor. He wanted to go to church over seeing the doctor! He has been complaining about his right ear a little bit, but he is really good at telling me when he needs to see a doctor.
Yesterday I went to pick up Kayden's prescription the one that we had a big issue with on Wednesday with his anti-rejection meds and Medicare. Up until now I haven't had to pay anything for these REALLY expensive meds and this was the first time that we were forced to run them through Medicare. Well we now have a co-pay of $80.00 every month for the ONE medication. I don't know what the copay for the other medication is going to be yet since it was just filled at the end of November. It will be expiring soon though so I am sure we will find out. This really sucks that Medicaid isn't picking anything up now that Kayden is eligible for Medicare. I am going to find out if we can submit it for reimbursement through our Medicaid worker and if they won't pay for it then we will submit it to COTA who will reimburse us out of the money that we raised through donations and fundraisers. I know that the medication that we just filled is about $700 and the medication that we will be getting filled the end of this month is around $1500. So I am hoping that our portion isn't going to be too much.
Lastly, our attorney has got a motion in for Josh to be able to get some time home for Christmas. We were hoping that we would have everything done and some information on Friday, but apparently they couldn't find the judge to get it signed. So we are having to wait until tomorrow to see if he can get some time to come home. We are hoping that the judge will be available in the morning since we have heard two different things. One person tells us that the court isn't open in the morning and another person says that it is. We are hoping that the person that said that it is open is correct and that we haven't missed our chance to have him approved to come home. So keep us in your prayers that things will work out so that he can be home for christmas. Right now I am really HATING the song I'll Be Home For Christmas because I don't know if my husband will be here or not. So if you would please pray that we will be able to have him here for Christmas and that we will be able to find the judge and get it approved.
Because of everything that has gone on I haven't gotten the pictures or video posted so I can't promise when they will be up but when they are up it will be alot so keep checking back.

You are one BUSY mommy! I had an ear infection about a month ago and they hurt soooo bad. I feel bad for Lexi. Hopefully she will start feeling better soon. I'm not sure what the Josh thing is about but I hope he does get to be home with you for Christmas. I will be praying for you and your family. Have a Merry Christmas!
