Yesterday was Kayden's transplant check up. We headed up bright and early (I got up at 4 a.m. to be exact) so that we could be at PCMC at 8 a.m. for our blood draw. Josh drove up, thank heavens because I hate driving when it is that early, and I slept the whole way. Once we got there we got checked in and went to the lab for the blood draw. When they called for Kayden to go back Josh volunteered to go, which was o.k. by me since I know that Kayden has no problems getting his blood drawn anymore. The only problem we had was that Josh about passed out from watching them draw Kayden's blood!
Next we headed over to clinic at the U of U. Since our favorite nurse is no longer there, I was pretty nervous as to how things were going to go, but they went pretty smooth. I updated the doc on Kayden's sinus infection, gave them the run down of medications we are on along with the dosage, got him weighed and measured. He didn't lose and weight and he didn't gain any. My thinking is that once we get the sinus infection taken care of he will begin to ear more.
I had to leave the appointment early because.....I had an appointment for a massage that I got for Christmas. I had an hour long Swedish massage, a pedicure and a haircut and I added on a eyebrow waxing. It was great! I made the pedicure guy work for his money. I have the most horrible cracking ugly feet and he did such a good job at making them look nice and smooth. It was wonderful! He did say that if I kept up on having a pedicure it will help my feet so they don't crack. I think may have to follow his advice because my feet will get to the point where they crack so deep and so much that they bleed.
Overall it was a great, relaxing and much needed day!
Thank you Josh for allowing me the time to go and take care of me. It felt so good.

Glad to hear that transplant clinic went well, and I can't believe Josh passed out! It's funny that Josh went in with Kayden because just last week Jason went in with Anna because he doesn't come with us very often, and he hasn't seen how well Anna does with blood draws in a while!
Glad you got your massage, boy does that sound nice!
why didn't you guys tell me you were up here? I was just at the U of U on Monday, RIGHT BY THE TRANSPLANT CLINIC!! I was there at 10! I am glad that you got a little relaxation! You deserve it! Tell Josh to stop passing out! :) He almost did the same thing when the dr was telling us about what was going to go on with Kayden's transplant... Can't wait to see you guys at Easter! I've been missing those kids! :)
I have the same problem with my feet. They crack so bad they hurt. Its gross.. oh well. Glad you had a good time. And don't they paint them pretty!!
I am so glad that you got a day of fun :) It is always nice to go and not have kids pulling on you for something.
