In All Seriousness

I have put up a lot of pictures lately so I thought it is time for another update and some thoughts.

Things are going good. I took today off since it was transplant clinic for Kayden. My work has been so easy to work with and I am glad that I found this job. I look forward to many years with IHC. We had to take Kayden to the ER at PCMC last night. He had been running a fever for over 24 hours. It got as high as 103.3 so we decided to take him in. They drew blood and hooked him up to an IV. His blood count was a level high showing that he had an infection somewhere that he was fighting, but at that point they didn't know where. They had talked to his nephrologist and he told us to come in this morning and he would see him then. When we got there this morning, Kayden was feeling just fine. No fever, not complaining, nothing.....he was just fine. When the doctor saw him today he was surgprised to see him doing so well, but he was just fine. He was tested for EBV and CMV and we will be getting those results in a couple days. We just need to watch him over the next week or so and see how he does. If his fever keeps coming and going during the next week then we will need to have him looked at again, but as of right now he is just fine.

This weekend is the Dash for Donation. It is a 5k race sponsored by Intermountain Donor Services to bring awareness to organ donation. Because Kayden has a transplant, the University of Utah will pay for his registration fee (which that is mine since Kayden doesn't actually walk the race, I push him!) So we will be attending that this Saturday. For anyone who wants the information on it....it is located at Sugarhouse Park and registration begins at 6:45 a.m. the race begins at 8 a.m. If you would like to donate on Kayden's behalf, leave me a message and I will contact you. If you would like to walk yourself your are more than welcome to attend.

Also this weekend is the 19th Annual Great Salt Lake Truck Show. This benefits the National Kidney Foundation of Utah and Idaho Kidney Kamp. This is located at Thanksgiving Point. We will be attending this and we will let you know how this truck show is.

We were also given information for this years Kidney Kamp located at Aspen Grove campground up Provo Canyon. It is for the whole family and each family gets their own cabin and free food for three days. this is made possible because of the truck show. Families get to go and hang out, fish, and enjoy time togather. We are looking forward to this in September.

I am loving the Olympics. Did you watch the swimming relay lastnight between the French and the USA? It was AWESOME! I was rocking Koy and since it was late I was trying to to scream too loud but it was just an awesome race. For all your Olympic information go here. It is so exciting!

After talking to our social worker today, it made me realize how much organizing and coordinating I have done in moving up here. I didn't realize how much I actually did and am still doing until now. Finding babysitters, daycare, registering for school, going to work, filling out paper work for workforce services, changing our address with those that need our new address, arranging for our utilities to begin, making sure that Lexi gets signed up for activities and all this in a month time frame. Luckily I didn't have to do it all in one day or else I would really be overwhelmed. Some days I still feel like everything isn't taken care of.

That was a pretty cool swim match last night huh? I don't think I have ever been so excited over SWIMMING! But that was AWESOME! Looks like you guys get to have a lot of fun because of Kayden with his new kidney! I really hope I didn't get Kayden sick. Poor kid looked miserable yesterday. I will let you know what my EBV test comes back as, I know they are back I talked to the office today the dr just wasn't in to read them.

I watched the American's beat the French! Poor France. They were so shocked. And I saw Phelps win again Monday night. And weren't the American gymnastic guys great? I didn't stay awake until 11:30 to see the end, but they were awesome. I was busy crocheting an afghan trying to get it done by Oct. 3 for Candace's wedding. Now I have to go teach the teachers, who can be the worst students :) but I love them anyway.

Wow! So much to do. Isn't it nice that you are there to be involved with all that? Hope Kayden is feeling better.
