Lexi's First Day of School

So here is the much awaited first day of school post complete with pictures. Lexi was nervous and excited to start school. I knew that she would be o.k. since she has an easy time making friends.

We started the morning off by getting up and getting breakfast. She wanted French Toast so I whipped up some yummy French Toast. The boys got up and everyone got dressed.

Since we live just around the corner from the school I loaded the boys up in the stroller and off we went to take Lexi to school.

I took her picture on the lawn of the apartmens and she looks so cute. Thanks to Nana for sending some clothes to be able to start school off right.

I wanted to walk her to her class so that I knew where it was and I wanted to meet her teacher. Lexi found her desk and her little cubbie for her backpack and her coat (this is different from Orangeville where they put their backpacks and their coats in the hallway). When I left her class I could tell that she was really nervous but by the end of the day she was just fine and really excited.

Her teacher is Mrs. Remley and she is really enjoying school so far. She has around 30 kids in her class and there are three classes of Third Grade. She is excited about lunch because they have 4 choices for lunch. They get served in baskets, just like Sizzler as Lexi says. They have student servers and Lexi says that at the end of the year she will get to help serve. She came home the other day and said that she had a new girl in the class that day and Lexi is in charge of helping her. Lexi said that her friend just moved here and just got off the plane from Iraq. She said that this little girl is really nice and she is teaching her about Hannah Montanna and the Jonas Brothers and helping her learn how to say things.

What a great experience! I am sure Lexi will teach her all the "important" things like Hannah Montanna. I know how nervous students get, but like you said, Lexi makes friends easily and since she is a good student she will do fine. Lexi told me her teacher is old like me! I think she looks younger but hey, age isn't anything any more.
