Five More

Here are five more and we are getting down to where I need to think a little.

1. I am definately thankful for doctors. If it wasn't for good doctors then Kayden would not be here. They made it so that he was able to get through his first two years of his life and they will continue to monitor him for the rest of his life. They are always just a phone call away and I am so thankful that they are there and that we have such a great relationship with them.

2. I am thankful for insurance. Because of the medical costs for Kayden if we didn't have insurance we would be up a creek. Thankfully Kayden still qualifies for SSI and receives Medicaid and Medicare and we also have insurance through Josh's work and I can qualify for insurance through my work.

3. I am thankful for the country that I live in. How great it is that we live in America. Yeah the markets suck right now and things are unknown and unsure, but we will get through it.

4. I am thankful for quiet time. I don't get enough of it and when it is quiet I enjoy it. I just can't have it quiet for too long. But I do enjoy it after being around kids and people all day long.

5. I am thankful for feeding pumps and G-tubes. As we are trying to get Kayden to eat more food, I am thankful that we have the back up of the feeding pump. I am reassured that he is getting all the nurtition that he needs in order to sustain life. I also am reassured that he is getting his meds and that he is well hydrated. I could not imagine life with a child who doesn't eat and always worrying if they are getting enough nutrition. With Koy and Lexi I know that they will eat when they get hungry enough but I am never guaranteed that with Kayden. I also like the peace of mind knowing that his meds actually made it to his stomach and that I can get him fluids whenever I am worried.
