Wow, Suse Orman is Awesome. She just tells you like it is. She is not only blaming the CEO's and the people on Wall Street for what has happened with the economy, but she is also blaming everybody else. She is so right. She says that we all played a part because we all wanted MORE than what we could afford. We wanted more credit cards, we wanted nicer cars, we wanted bigger houses and by getting so much credit we also got to the point where we couldn't pay for it therefore the credit companies and Wall Street started having problems and that is why we are where we are now. People in this country were living a facade and most people were living a lie. They wanted everything but they couldn't really afford it. One couple on there had 29 credit cards! We all need to take a part of the blame for what has happened to the economy.
The cycle was talked about in the Book of Mormon with every society they begin to prosper and then pride comes in and the they are forced to repent or else destruction comes upon them and then they are humbled and the cyle goes is repeated. It happened to every group of people in the Book of Mormon and it still happens today and I feel like we as LDS have fallen into that trap also and that is why we are always being warned about it. It will be interesting to hear what our leaders have to tell us in Conference in a few weeks.
I know that Josh and I have started paying cash for everything and only using our bank account to pay our bills and we only put into our bank account what we pay out in bills. We are having to save our money for things if we need it. We can't just go to RC Willey and buy a new bed, or a new t.v. or furnish our childrens bedrooms. We have to save and look for the best deal. It sure is teaching us a few lessons and we have had to learn things the hard way, but we are making it through this.
