Yesterday at the end of church the Bishop got up and spoke about prayer and the power of prayer. He said that prayer is very powerful. He told everyone to remember ward members in our prayers and he also told us to remember one particular person in our prayers.
This person is a little boy about 3 years old. His grandpa is the Stake President and former bishop of our own ward. I grew up with his dad and attended high school with both is mom and dad. This little 3 year old boy had fallen into a swimming pool and was found at the bottom of the pool. They didn't know how long he had been there. As of yesterday he was on life support.
Today, this little boy is doing well and off of life support. My dad talked to his grandpa and as of this afternoon he had been up and eating a popsicle and things were looking really good.
This has made me think about how things can change in an instant. One minute you can have a little 3 year old running around and getting into things and then in an instant something can happen. I was blessed with a beautiful little baby and in an instant I received the most devastating news about his kidney failure. My sister was having a very normal pregancy and then in an instant she went into pre-term labor and her families life was changed forever. In an instant there was a car accident that took the life of a teenager whose family had to decide to give their loved ones organs up for donation which in turn changed the life of my son, in an instant.... One night this little family was excited about their approaching new little bundle of joy and the following morning they found out that in an instant their little one was gone. Leslie's husband went to sleep one night and didn't wake up the next morning. Charlie Cooper was an active 9 month old and the next day he was rushed to Primary Childrens with meningitis.
We need to treasure what we have now. We need to spend time with our family now. We need to heed the Church Leaders voices when they say to slow down and spend time with your family.
A lot of people have the attitude of "That will never happen to me." or "We don't need health insurance now we are really healthy people." I am here to say that you never know what is going to happen and when it will happen. Don't think that because life is good now that it is going to be that way tomorrow or a week from now. You need to make the most of every moment of every day and don't take advantage of anything.

Hi Tammy, I really enjoyed reading this post. Thank you for reminding me once again to enjoy every day. I get so caught up in everything that I sometimes forget to just breath and let life soak in a little bit. I'm so glad that things are starting to come together for you and your family. Have you been able to find anyone to watch your kids while you work? I have found some great girls that have helped us on the website gonannies.com. We have always been able to set up several interviews within a couple of days and have been really happy with who we have hired. They all charge different amounts so you figure that out with each girl. I hope that this might help. Good luck with the move!

Such a GREAT reminder. Another great post from you!
That's fun that your daughter was in Stadium of Fire--what studio? Wouldn't that be fun if we were standing by each other?
