Vote People!

I subscribe to the Doug Wright podcasts. I love listening to Doug Wright. I agree with a lot of his values and his thinking. This past week we had a Primary in the great state of Utah. The turnout for the primary election was simply PATHETIC.

I have been following the Jason Chaffetz and Chris Cannon race in the Third Congressional District. I am so happy that Jason Cheffetz won. Even though he is not in my district, I think it sends a loud message saying that we as a people are not happy with what is going on in our government. I think that if more people stand up and vote and make their vote count!

In fact, every incumbant that was running and had to go through the primary lost! So what does that mean, that every incumbant needs to get out there and work for every single vote that they get. Nothing is going to get handed over to someone just because they have been there previously. I think that we need to hold our elected officials accountable for every single thing that happens both good and bad.

One thing that I think hurt the primary elections in the state is the closed republican primary. Even though most Utahns vote and tend to lean more republican there are more and more of us who do NOT want to claim an affiliation with either party right now.

So my big question is, if you didn't vote why? and what will get you to come out and vote in the general election?
